GATE 2024: Interested and eligible candidates can apply for the exam at the official website of IISc — gate2024.iisc.ac.in

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, will close the registration process for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2024 today, October 12. Candidates who submit their applications by today via the GATE 2024 Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) will be able to register without any late fees. However, those who miss today’s deadline and choose to apply between October 13 and October 20, will be required to pay a late fee of Rs 500. Interested and eligible candidates can apply for the exam at the official website of IISc GATE 2024 — gate2024.iisc.ac.in.

Applicants will have the opportunity to modify their application forms from November 7 to November 11. The GATE 2024 is scheduled to be conducted on February 3, 4, 10, and 11, 2024. Admit cards for the examination will be available for download on January 3, 2024. Furthermore, candidates can expect the release of answer keys on February 21, 2024.

GATE 2024: How to Apply

Step 1: Visit the official website at gate2024.iisc.ac.in.

Step 2: On the homepage, click on “Register Here.”

Step 3: Provide your personal details to create login credentials.

Step 4: Log in using the generated credentials on the homepage.

Step 5: Fill out the online application form.

Step 6: Pay the application fees.

Step 7: Download and print the confirmation page for future reference.

As per the official information brochure, the exam will be held in a Computer Based Test (CBT) format for a duration of three hours. There will be 30 test papers featuring two sections — General Aptitude (GA), and Candidate’s Selected Subject(s). A total of 65 questions will be asked in the exam which comprises 10 questions from the general aptitude section and 55 from the subject selected by the candidates.

Questions will carry either one mark or two marks. For a wrong answer to an MCQ, there will be a negative marking. For a one-mark MCQ, one-third will be deducted for a wrong answer. For two-mark MCQ, two-thirds of marks will be deducted for a wrong answer. There is no negative marking for wrong answers to MSQ and NAT questions. There is no partial marking for any question.
