Fresh Infections Drop To 25-day Low In Pmr, 14 More Patients Succumb | Pune News – Times of India

PUNE: The number of Covid-19 cases dropped to 3,762 in the Pune Metropolitan Region on Monday, its least since January 6 when 3,648 people had tested positive for the virus. Besides, 14 more patients succumbed to the infection in the region in the last 24 hours, taking its toll to 19,475 so far.
As many as 7,953 recoveries were recorded in the Pune Metropolitan Region (PMR) on Monday, which included more than 3,200 discharges in the Pune municipal limits, followed by the Pimpri Chinchwad area (2,942) and the rural parts (1,748).
Among the new Covid-19 cases, the Pimpri Chinchwad areas and rural pockets added less than 1,000 new cases each. The case count in the PMC limits also dropped to 2,056, data released by district health officer Bhagwan Pawar stated.
As many as 22,766 samples were tested in the region on Monday.
The active cases in the region further dropped to 59,204 on Monday.
Of these, as many as 56,887 patients were in home isolation and 2,317 patients being treated at various hospitals.
