Incessant rains in Guwahati, Assam have created a flood situation in the city. At the same time, due to heavy rains on Tuesday, a landslide occurred on the Nijarapar hill near Boregaon area of Guwahati, in which four laborers died.
An official of the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) said that all the laborers who died were living in rented accommodation and were sleeping during the rains. After the accident, the whole house was grounded. According to the official, landslides were reported from half a dozen other places in the city including Kamakhya, Kharghuli, Hengrabari, Silpukhuri and Chandmari Colony, but no casualties were reported.
The bodies of four people trapped inside the house after the landslide have been recovered.

Landslide caused by heavy rain

According to the DCP, there is no information about any other person being trapped in this. However, the search and rescue operation is still going on in the area.

Apart from this, there is a possibility of torrential rains in West Bengal and Sikkim on June 15 (Wednesday).
