Former Finance Minister Manpreet Badal.

Former Punjab Finance Minister Manpreet Badal has also come under the radar of Vigilance Bureau. Manpreet is accused of looting the government treasury by forming fake companies in the transportation of wheat and paddy. These allegations were made by BJP leader Sarup Chand Singla, former MLA of Bathinda. After which the Vigilance Bureau has sought records related to the Food and Civil Supplies Department.

The special thing is that Manpreet Badal had brought Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann into politics. Mann contested the first election from Manpreet’s People’s Party of Punjab (PPP). After this Manpreet went to Congress and Mann to Aam Aadmi Party.

Companies formed in the name of driver and gunman
BJP leader Sarup Chand Singla gave a complaint to the Vigilance. In which it was said that during 2017 to 2022, fake companies were formed in the name of Manpreet Badal’s driver and gunman. In which questions have also been raised on Manpreet’s relatives. Manpreet is accused of benefitting a private transport company. Which is in the name of his relative’s driver.

Relative denies allegation
Jaijit Johal, a close relative of Manpreet, leveled the allegations. He said that in the coming days he would give more details in this matter.

Singla did not give evidence, will check the record
Bathinda Vigilance Bureau DSP Sandeep Singh said that records are being sought from the concerned department in this regard. Vigilance will scrutinize the records before arriving at any conclusion.
