Rewa farmer Dharamjay Singh (50) died of corona on Tuesday night after eight months of treatment at Apollo Hospital in Chennai. About Rs 8 crore had been spent on his treatment. Dharmajay was corona infected in May 2021. When his condition did not improve, he was airlifted and admitted to Apollo Hospital in Chennai on 18 May. Here the doctors of London were monitoring.
He was treated for about 254 (more than 8 months) days. He was put on the Ecmo machine. About Rs 3 lakh was being spent on treatment every day, for which the family sold up to 50 acres of land. The longest treatment for corona in the country was done by Vishwas Saini of Meerut, who defeated Corona after 130 days.
Chennai was airlifted on 18 May
Dharamjay Singh (50), a resident of Rakri village of Mauganj area, was sampled on 30 April 2021. In the report received on May 2, he was found corona infected. Bhai Pradeep Singh told that a week ago suddenly Dharamjay’s blood pressure had gone down. The doctors admitted him to the ICU. Here he suffered a brain hemorrhage, so had to be put on a ventilator. Initially he was admitted to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Rewa. On May 18, when the condition did not improve, he was taken to Chennai by air ambulance. He was admitted there since then.
The lungs of Dharamjay Singh, who was admitted in Apollo Hospital, had become 100% infected. However, after four days, Corona was free from infection. Due to lung infection, an attempt was being made to give him a new life through the Ecmo machine.
Doctors of the country and abroad did the treatment
According to family members, Dharamjay Singh was treated in the presence of doctors from across the country and abroad. The famous doctors of London used to come to Apollo Hospital to see him. Along with this, doctors of other countries were also being consulted online. Ecmo was kept on the machine for eight months only at the behest of the doctors of London. He was completely fine.
Dharmajay died on Tuesday night.
What is acmo machine and how much does it cost
When the ventilator also fails, then the patient is put on the Ecmo machine. Oxygenation is done by taking out the patient’s blood from this machine. Then that blood is sent again inside the body. It is an artificial process in which oxygen can be maintained in the body. This treatment is very expensive. For this, 4 to 5 lakh rupees are needed. 2 lakh per day is needed to continue the treatment.
Shivraj did the honor to give recognition to strawberry cultivation
Dharamjay was honored by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in the main function held at PTS Ground on 26 January 2021. Dharamjay Singh gave a unique identity to the cultivation of strawberries and roses in the Vindhyas. He got infected while serving the people during the Corona period. The relatives claim that Rs 8 crore has been spent in the treatment. The family members had appealed to the state government. After this, financial help of only Rs 4 lakh was received.
Dharamjay’s body is being brought through the plane.
