Two files of tender scam related to former Congress minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu have gone missing. One file is to make tainted officer Rakesh Singla the chairman of the Central Vigilance Committee (CVC). On the other hand, the second file is to make Singla the chairman of the tender allotment committee.
Singla is also an accused in the multi-crore tender scam. However, he fled abroad as soon as he came to know about the investigation of the scam. A few days ago, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government sacked Singla from the post of deputy director. Singla had taken Canadian citizenship while in service.
Bharat Bhushan Ashu is currently in the custody of Vigilance.
Vigilance asked for the files, it was revealed
The Vigilance team probing the tender scam had sought both these files from the Food and Civil Supplies Department. After this the files were searched for about a week. Still the files were not found. According to the officials of the Food Supply Department, after not getting these files, certificates are being taken from all the employees that these files cannot be traced. After this, a recommendation will be made to register a case to the Chandigarh Police.
ED has also demanded the record of the scam
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has also become active regarding the tender scam. The ED has written a letter to the Vigilance Department seeking details of the case registered against Bharat Bhushan Ashu. ED will investigate the transaction of money in this case.
