Amid the ongoing sexual abuse allegations that have rocked the Malayalam film industry, a female Congress leader has claimed that only those close to the leadership get opportunities in the party, prompting a complaint by the Mahila Congress against her.

While making shocking allegations, Simi Rosebell John went on to compare the situation in the Kerala Congress with that of “casting couch” in the film industry.

In a conversation with the media, John said that many people who have had negative experiences have shared their stories with her, and that she has proof which she will reveal in due course of time. She also mentioned having advised those who complained to her, a Mathrubumi report stated.

During the conversation, she mentioned the name of Jebi Mather MP and added that certain members are receiving undue honours in Congress. She also claimed that they had remained silent when Mather was made the All India Secretary of the Youth Congress, as well as when she joined the Mahila Congress eight years ago. She also questioned how many women in the KPCC face similar issues and pointed out that those who refused to follow the directions are still mistreated, while others are favoured by the top leadership.
