Today’s strike by farmer organizations in Punjab has been postponed. In this regard, a meeting of farmer leaders was held with CM Bhagwant Mann at Punjab Bhawan in Chandigarh late in the night. After which the government assured that the arrear payment of sugarcane would be given by September 7. Private millers will also pay the dues by the same date.

CM Bhagwant Mann said that the dues of Phagwara’s mill alone are 72 crores. He has given land worth 20 crores. Will auction it and give money. 8 crore their stock of sugar is left. Its owners have fled to England. For this, a letter will be written to the center. Action will also be taken against them. After the meeting, the farmers said that there would be another meeting with the government on September 7. If the demands are not met, then further decision will be taken.

Mann said – have given 100 crores, will pay the rest in 2 installments
After the meeting, CM Bhagwant Mann said that Mann said that sugarcane farmers owed Rs 294.98 crore to the government. We have given 100 crores. 100 crore will be paid before August 15. 94.98 crore will be given by 7 September. 150 crore dues of private mill are standing. Many private millers have also said that they will give due payment before 7th September.

It was also agreed to withdraw the case against the farmers
The Punjab government is withdrawing the cases registered against farmers during Kovid, stubble burning and agitation. So far 29 cases have been withdrawn. 34 cases have been asked to be withdrawn. 6 cases have gone to court. The process of taking them back has also been started. Regarding the cases registered in Chandigarh, it was also agreed that the DGPs of Punjab and Chandigarh will sit together and take a decision on canceling them.

Has given jobs to the families of 292 farmers who died in the movement
292 jobs have been given to the families of farmers who died during the agitation. The rest will also be given on exit. The help of 5-5 lakhs will go to his account by August 5. The BBMB issue is centrally linked. I met Union Minister Gajendra Shekhawat regarding the problem of Budhe drain. Its water goes till Rajasthan.

After trusting the government, the dharna was postponed: Dallewal
Farmer leader Jagjit Dallewal said that the government agreed that a meeting would be held again on September 7. Till then all the arrears of sugarcane will reach the farmers’ account. In the case of Phagwara Mill, the government agreed that we will give 28 crores before 7th September. Will attach property worth 44 crores. The government has also assured to run the mill by November 5. After this the dharna has been postponed for the time being.
