The Mumbai Police has arrested a man who entered PM Modi’s program posing as a guard. The arrest of the accused took place about 90 minutes before the PM’s arrival in the programme. The court has sent the accused to police custody till January 24.

On January 19, PM Modi reached a program at Bandra-Kurla Complex in Maharashtra. Mumbai Police officials said that about 90 minutes before the PM was to reach here, a man posing as a Naik of the Guards Regiment tried to enter the high-security VVIP area.

The accused has been identified as Rameshwar Mishra, 35, a science graduate. Mumbai Crime Branch officials stopped him at 3 pm on suspicion, then arrested him after questioning. Police has registered a case against the accused under sections 171, 465, 468 and 471 of the IPC.

Police produced the accused in Bandra court on Friday. The court has sent him to police custody till January 24.

Child tries to garland PM in Karnataka
Earlier on January 12, in Hubli, Karnataka, a child broke through the security cordon during the PM’s roadshow and reached very close to him. The child tried to garland the PM. Though security personnel stopped him, the PM took away the garland from the child’s hand. The child has been identified as Kunal Dhongadi, a student of class VI. Kunal told that he likes PM very much and once wanted to see him closely.
