What’s going viral A post is going viral on social media. It has a picture of an insect and two dead bodies lying in the field. It is being claimed that people are getting such an insect in the fields, which dies immediately after stinging.

And what is the truth?
- At the beginning of the investigation, we reverse searched the photos of dead bodies lying in the field on Google. In the search result, we found a video related to it on a YouTube channel named Jagat News 24.
- According to the channel, this picture of 9 September 2022 is from Jalgaon, Maharashtra. Actually, on September 9, Shivaji Chavan and his son Vicky Chavan were working in their farm. Then suddenly both of them died on the spot due to the fall of Bijli.
- In the next phase of investigation, we reverse searched the image of the insect seen in the viral photo. In the search result, we found this photo with information in the Twitter post of Doordarshan News Andhra.
- Doordarshan News Andhra shared the photo and wrote – A post is going viral in WhatsApp groups. It is being told that any person will die within 5 minutes due to the bite of a poisonous insect. However, Krishi Vigyan Kendra clarified that this is a fake post.
- These insects are mostly found in sugarcane and orchards. Its bite or touch only causes itching or burning in the body, it does not cause death.
- It is clear that the claim being made with the viral post on social media is completely false.
