On Thursday, CM Flying, Crime Branch and Udyog Vihar police station together caught a fake call center in Gurugram district of Haryana, adjacent to the country’s capital Delhi. 17 people have been arrested from the call center. American citizens were being cheated for the last 4 months through people’s call centers. Police have recovered 22.50 lakh cash and other items.
CM Flying had received information that fake call centers were running from one to three floors of the building named Sybiz Corp in Udyog Vihar Phase-4 of Gurugram. After this the team was formed jointly. When the police raided on strong information, the same type of activities were found going on as the information was received. On the first floor 28 youths and 13 girls, on the second floor 47 youths and 14 girls and on the third floor 31 youths and 16 girls were talking in English language with headphones on. There were computer systems in front of everyone.

Unable to present documents
After the raid, the police officers asked the employees for necessary documents for the operation of the center, but nothing was presented. After this, the police team originally residing in Sector-67, Dev Prakash alias Monu, resident of Ahmedabad, Anirudh Agarwal, Rahul Sharma, resident of Dwarka, Delhi, Ashish Anand, resident of Ranibagh, Govind Singh, resident of Subhash Nagar, living in Sector-48 of Gurugram. Originally resident of Ahmedabad Anis Antheni, Babu Rajan, Shovik San, Vikram Sharma, resident of Shastri Nagar, Delhi, Shubham Sunam, resident of Basant Vihar, Sumit, resident of Karala, Ayush Singhal, resident of Azad Nagar, Swarnjeet Singh, Ramit Vig, resident of Okhla, Manish of Okhla Kumar and Neema Vongdi Sherpa, a resident of Munirka and Abhilash Kumar, a resident of Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, were arrested.
Call center was running since last 4 months
During interrogation of the accused, it was found that the call center was being run for the last 4 months. Employees used to buy Canadian and US citizens gift cards ranging from $500 to $1,000 in the name of providing Microsoft technical support after first sending voice mail or popups via computer. Apart from the salary, the commission was also given separately to the employees. However, it is not yet clear how many people were cheated and how much amount was recovered.
