Fake call center busted in Gurugram: 18 boys and 4 girls arrested; Used to cheat foreigners by showing fear of porn movies

Another fake call center has been busted in Gurugram, adjacent to the country’s capital Delhi. From here 18 boys and 4 girls were arrested. All of them used to cheat American citizens by sending popups in the computer showing the fear of leaking bank details while watching porn movies. CM Flying and Gurugram Police jointly carried out the entire operation.

CM Flying’s DSP Inderjit Singh said that on the basis of information, along with Gurugram Police, raids were conducted on the third floor of Lal Building of Udyog Vihar. From here 22 people including the call center operator were arrested, including 4 girls. The operator did not get any permission to run the call center. During preliminary interrogation, it emerged that the accused used to contact people of American origin and send them fake mail containing the virus.

used to charge up to 900 dollars

By showing the fear of child pornography to the people in contact, they tell that their bank details have been leaked. Because of which his bank balance is insecure. In return for which people used to take 200 to 900 dollars in the name of downloading antivirus. This amount was taken through Google Pay, E-pay, Steam, Apple, Bestbay, Target Gift Card. The accused earlier used to run illegal call center in Udyog Vihar Phase-5 Gurugram. Which was closed from there and shifted to the third floor of M Lal Tower sometime back.

In the police interrogation, the accused were identified as Call Center Director Shashank Rathod, Abhishek Pandey, Call Center Manager Vivek Shinde, Neeraj Joshi, Sawant Singh Chauhan, Parth Sharma, Tokir Ansari, Narendra, Vijay Chauhan, Jai Bhagela, Bhimesh, Rohit Chauhan, Deep Mehta, Vatsal, Pradeep, Vishal, Gaurav Sharma, Avishkar Vishwas.

Out of this, the police have recovered 3 mobile phones, 3 laptops, 1 internet modem, lane container, cash of Rs 13 thousand 480 from the possession of the accused. Police say that the main accused Shashank Rathod, Abhishek Pandey and manager Vivek Shinde will be produced in the court and taken on remand.
