Israel on Saturday declared a “state of readiness for war”, amid a massive barrage of rockets from the Gaza Strip and infiltration into its southern area

Amid escalating tensions between Israel and Palestine, India on Saturday issued an advisory for its citizens in Israel and urged them to exercise utmost caution and vigilance. The Indian embassy in Israel also issued a helpline in case of emergencies.

“In view of the current situation in Israel, all Indian nationals in Israel are requested to remain vigilant and observe safety protocols as advised by local authorities. Please exercise caution, avoid unnecessary movement and stay close to safety shelters. The Embassy personnel remain at your disposal for any further guidance,” the government said in its statement.

Earlier today, Israel declared a “state of readiness for war”, amid a massive barrage of rockets from the Gaza Strip and infiltration into its southern area, killing at least one person and injuring 16 others.

Militant group Hamas, which is now joined by other terrorist groups as well fired between 2,000 and 5,000 rockets towards Israel from the blockaded Palestinian area of the Gaza Strip on Saturday morning and dozens of terrorists entered southern Israeli cities, laying siege and taking control of several key locations, including a police station.

Islamic faction Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip, claimed it had launched 5,000 rockets at Israel in an early morning barrage called, “Operation al-Aqsa Flood”.
