SpaceX CEO Elon Musk is facing a lawsuit from his ex-girlfriend, Grimes, who goes by the legal name Claire Boucher. Grimes has filed a petition in a California court to establish a parental relationship, according to court records obtained by US-based magazine Page Six on Tuesday.
Musk, 52, and Grimes, 35, are parents of three children. Their first son, X Æ A-Xii, arrived in May 2020. In December 2021, they quietly welcomed daughter Exa Dark Sideræl via surrogate. They had a third child named Techno Mechanicus, called Tau, which became public knowledge in September.
Their relationship was detailed in Walter Isaacson’s biography of Elon Musk. She is now seeking legal recognition for their child despite not being married to Musk. The Tesla chief charmed Grimes with a high-speed Autopilot ride, and they exchanged unique gifts like animal bones. They dated from 2018 until their official breakup in September 2021.
Last month, Grimes posted on X that she was pursuing legal action against one of the richest people on the planet. “Tell Elon to let me see my son or plz respond to my lawyer,” she wrote in a response to the writer of Musk’s biography. But later deleted her post.
As per US media reports, Musk is a father to 11 children from three different women. His first child with his ex-wife, Canadian author Justine Wilson, was Nevada Alexander Musk, who passed away from sudden infant death syndrome at 10 weeks old.
They later used in vitro fertilisation to have Griffin and Vivian Musk, who are now 18, and triplet sons Kai, Saxon, and Damian, who are now 17. In November 2021, Musk welcomed twins Strider and Azure with Neuralink director Shivon Zilis.
