They argue that about 20 lakh population may face problems related to voting.

These parties have written a letter

Bahujan Samaj Party first raised the demand to postpone the date of elections in Punjab. BSP’s Punjab chief Jasbir Garhi said that this date should be made February 20. After this, the Chief Minister of the Congress government, Charanjit Channi, wrote a letter asking him to postpone the election. Seeing the situation, the BJP, Captain Amarinder Singh’s Punjab Lok Congress and Sukhdev Dhindsa’s Shiromani Akali Dal (United) have also demanded postponement of the elections.

The Doaba region of Punjab and especially Jalandhar has the highest number of devotees of Shri Guru Ravidas ji. He is also against the date of the election. He wants to contribute to this important stage of democracy, but due to the lack of foresight of the Commission, he may be deprived of voting. Because of this, devotees are also demanding that the date of voting should be postponed for a week.
