In fact, the Election Commission kept the voting in Punjab on February 14. 16th February is the birth anniversary of Shri Guru Ravidas ji. During which lakhs of devotees from Punjab go to Benares in Uttar Pradesh to visit the birthplace of the Guru. In such a situation, all the political parties are unanimous to postpone the election. They argue that about 20 lakh population may face problems related to voting.

At the same time, the concern of the commission has also increased because in such a situation the voting percentage will also decrease. The Commission has also been informed about this by the Election Officers of Punjab. However, no concrete information has come about this from the headquarters of the Election Commission in Delhi.

Voting on 14, devotees will leave for UP from 13

There is 32% Scheduled Caste brotherhood in Punjab. February 16 is the 645th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Ravidas ji. In such a situation, lakhs of people visit his birthplace Govardhanpur. This place is in Banaras of Uttar Pradesh. On the day of birth anniversary, the people of Punjab will leave Punjab by special trains on February 13-14, with the desire to have darshan. Polling in Punjab is on February 14 and people will keep returning for a day or two after 16. So he will not be able to take part in the vote.

These parties have written a letter

Bahujan Samaj Party first raised the demand to postpone the date of elections in Punjab. BSP’s Punjab chief Jasbir Garhi said that this date should be made February 20. After this, the Chief Minister of the Congress government, Charanjit Channi, wrote a letter asking him to postpone the election. Seeing the situation, the BJP, Captain Amarinder Singh’s Punjab Lok Congress and Sukhdev Dhindsa’s Shiromani Akali Dal (United) have also demanded postponement of the elections.

Now the community is also in opposition

The Doaba region of Punjab and especially Jalandhar has the highest number of devotees of Shri Guru Ravidas ji. He is also against the date of the election. He wants to contribute to this important stage of democracy, but due to the lack of foresight of the Commission, he may be deprived of voting. Because of this, devotees are also demanding that the date of voting should be postponed for a week.
