Elderly Couple Recreates ‘Rimjhim Gire Saawan’ Sequence. Watch Video

New Delhi: Bollywood songs have always been our love- be it any season, any occasion, weddings or travel- there is something for everyone. It’s true that Bollywood music has evolved with time catering to the taste of the present generation, but come what may, we still love to listen to the old classics that are often hummed by our parents. It’s because of the timelessness of those songs, that they keep listeners mesmerised even today.

One such song was ‘Rimjhum Gire Saawan’, from the movie ‘Manzil’ featuring Amitabh Bachchan and Moushumi Chatterjee. Composed by R.D Burman and sung by Kishore Kumar, the song is perfect for the monsoons, while you enjoy the rain with a cup of coffee.

Interestingly, an elderly couple recreated a scene from the movie ‘Manzil’, where Amitabh Bachchan and Moushumi Chatterjee were seen walking in the rain with ‘Rimjhim Gire Saawan’ playing in the backdrop. The woman was garbed in a green chiffon, while the man was in a suit, which was similar to the outfits worn by Chatterjee and Bachchan. They walked in the rain, holding hands, while ‘Rimjhim Gire Saawan’ played in the background. They seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves as they strolled along the city.

The video shared by Twitter user D Prashanth Nair, who claims to have received it through WhatsApp, is doing the rounds on the internet. In his post, the elderly couple has been identified as Shailesh Inamdaar and his wife Vandana, but ABP Live could not independently verify the identity of the couple.

Sharing the post on Twitter, Prashanth Nair wrote, “Applause to the effort! Shailesh Inamdaar and his wife Vandana have reshot the song ‘Rimjhim gire sawan’ mostly on the same locations as the original song. Their friends Anup Ringangaavkar and his wife Ankita have shot it with so much love and care.. Not sharing the full video because of copyright rules”

Netizens took to the comments section and applauded the couple. One of them wrote, “Fantastic. Cameraman also deserves praise.”, while another person commented, “So so beautifully done! What a couple to brave the rain and hope they didn’t need to take too many shots. Editing is top deck!”

Speaking about the movie ‘Manzil’, the film was directed by Basu Chatterjee and it hit the theatres in 1979.
