New Delhi: One of the most significant events observed by Muslims worldwide is Eid-e-Milad-Un-Nabi. This year, the evening of Saturday, October 8 will mark the start of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi, which will last until the evening of Sunday, October 9.

Prophet Muhammad’s birth anniversary is observed on this day. Muslims all across the world celebrate this day by honouring and paying homage to the last prophet of Islam.

Shia and Sunni populations observe the occasion on various days. Shia Muslims observe it on the seventeenth of the Islamic month of Rabi al-Awwal, whereas Sunni Muslims do so on the twelve.

Eid Milad un Nabi 2022: A brief history

Prophet Hazrat Muhammad is said to have attained enlightenment around 610 AD in a cave called Hira close to where he was born in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. Later, he promoted Quranic values. On this day, it is traditional to listen to the songs recited in the Prophet’s praise in order to get both earthly and heavenly benefits.
