Even today the weather in Himachal is completely ready for rain and snowfall. Intermittent snowfall continues in the higher reaches. Due to snowfall, 7 districts of the state Shimla, Kullu, Kinnaur, Lahaul Spiti, Chamba, Kangra and Mandi have come under the grip of cold wave. Not only in the minimum temperature of these cities, there has been a huge drop in the maximum temperature here.

109 transfers have also been affected in Himachal due to snowfall. Maximum 82 transformers are closed in Lahaul Spiti, 20 in Shimla, Chawal in Kullu and three in Chamba.

There has been 11 mm of rain in Gohar, 7 in Rampur, 6 in Shimla and Sarahan, 5-5 mm in Sundernagar, Reckong Peo, Dharamshala, Jogindernagar, Sunni. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for heavy rain and snowfall in Himachal on 23 and 24.

In view of the possibility of heavy snowfall, the Meteorological Department issued an advisory. This advisory has been issued keeping safety in mind. People have been advised to avoid cold in the morning and evening. In view of the snowfall, people have been instructed to make proper arrangements for electricity, water and communication facilities.

In view of the low chances of visibility due to cold and snowfall, people have been advised to take necessary precautions while driving.

District administration should monitor essential services
The Meteorological Department has asked Shimla, Kinnaur, Lahaul Spiti, Kullu, Chamba, Mandi, Kangra district administration to keep a close watch on essential services. Keeping in view the safety of the tourists, they have been advised not to go to such areas, which may create difficulties for them due to snowfall.
