AAP came to power on education issue
The Aam Aadmi Party heavily exploited the issue of education in the campaign for the assembly elections. Party chief Arvind Kejriwal gave a guarantee that schools in Punjab would also be made world class like Delhi. Although there was no major change in the condition of schools, the AAP government did change the education minister. Earlier Meet Hair was the Education Minister, later its responsibility was given to Harjot Bains.

There has been a ruckus on the National Achievement Survey
Punjab was ranked number one in education in the Central Government’s National Achievement Survey (NAS). Punjab topped in all the 5 subjects of class 3rd, 5th and 8th. However, the AAP government of Punjab did not agree with this. CM Bhagwant Mann termed it as fake. The Aam Aadmi Party is also questioning this survey, showing the existing infrastructure of schools.
