The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has conducted two more raids in Mumbai in the Patra Chawl scam of more than one thousand crores. However, the ED has not given information about where this raid is going on. Sources associated with the ED said that this action is being taken against two close relatives of Raut.
At the same time, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut is in ED’s custody till August 4. The ED has described him as an active conspirator of this scam. Praveen Raut, already arrested in the scam, has been described as Sanjay’s ‘frontman’. ED may interrogate Praveen and Sanjay Raut today by sitting face to face.
Being close to Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut, Praveen got the necessary approval from the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA). The ED claims that the investigation so far has revealed that out of Rs 112 crore illegally received by Praveen in the money laundering case, Rs 1 crore 6 lakh was given directly to Sanjay Raut and his family. The ED has also claimed that the amount could be higher.
