Drunk Man Rams His Merc Into Auto And Car; 1 Injured | Noida News – Times of India

GREATER NOIDA: A 34-year-old man has been arrested for ramming his Mercedes Benz car into an auto and injuring the driver near Amarpali Leisure Valley society on Thursday night. Police said the accused was in an inebriated condition at the time of the incident.
The accused — Hemant Kumar — works at a private firm and is a resident of Noida’s Sector 63.
“On Thursday night around 10pm, we got to know about the accident,” said ACP-2 (Central Noida) Yogendra Singh. He added that Kumar was taken into custody.
“He was under the influence of alcohol. During investigation, it came to light that just before the call was made, Kumar had hit an auto following which it turned turtle. Auto driver — Rampal — had suffered injuries and was taken to the hospital where he was kept under observation for a few hours,” the ACP said.
He added that after hitting the auto, Kumar tried to flee the spot in his car but again rammed the vehicle into a Ciaz car. “The driver had passed out when he was caught,” the officer said.
Police said that no liquor bottles were found from his car while he has been changing his statements frequently. “We are waiting for him to gain his consciousness so that we can record his statement,” the ACP said.
Kumar has been arrested under sections 279 (rash driving), 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life), 338 (causing grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) and 427 (mischief) of the Indian Penal Code.
