The World Cup naturally results in increased demand for fast food.

The fast-food chain aims to utilise this offer to maintain a competitive edge in the market.

Domino’s, a major fast-food chain, has significantly reduced the prices of its pizza offerings by as much as 50 per cent. This was done on the occasion of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup. Beginning today, customers can indulge in their preferred large vegetarian pizzas for just Rs 499, a notable decrease from their previous cost of Rs 799. Likewise, those who enjoy non-vegetarian pizzas can now order large pizzas for an appealing price of Rs 549, down significantly from the previous rate of Rs 919.

The fast-food chain aims to utilise this offer to boost sales and maintain a competitive edge during this big sporting event, which typically results in a surge in orders. Alongside the significant price cut on large pizzas, Domino’s India has introduced Everyday Value offers to cater to a broader customer base. The Howzzat50 promotion codes provide customers with a flat 50% discount on pizzas.

The World Cup naturally results in increased demand for fast food. Domino’s India aims to stay ahead of the competition by implementing a well-planned price reduction. This move may be in response to competition from other food categories, especially burgers and biryani. Additionally, Domino’s has experienced some stabilisation in important input costs like dairy and cheese, enabling the company to pass on these advantages to its customers.

Domino’s India has expanded its presence by opening 23 new outlets and entering a new city, bringing the total number of stores to 1,838 across 394 cities. Furthermore, the company introduced four new Popeyes eateries and made its debut in two additional cities, Manipal and Coimbatore, resulting in a total of 17 restaurants in four cities.

On September 27, Karan Taurani, Senior Vice President and Research Analyst at Elara Capital, noted that the pizza industry is facing intense competition, and its growth prospects may not be immediately evident. A review of market share data from the past 3-4 years reveals that the pizza sector has experienced a decline in its position within the broader quick-service restaurant (QSR) chain sector.
