Army’s assault dog Zoom, who was injured in an encounter with terrorists in Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir, breathed his last at 12 noon on Thursday. According to the Chinar Corps of the Indian Army, the search operation was carried out on 9-10 October. Zoom was also a part of it.
During this, the soldiers of the army sent Zoom to a house, where the news of the hiding of the terrorists was received. Zoom identified the terrorists and attacked them. During this he got two bullets. Despite being injured, he continued to fight with the terrorists, due to which the soldiers killed the terrorists. Two jawans were also injured during this encounter.

Treatment was going on since Monday
Zoom was admitted to the Veterinary Hospital on Monday. He was being treated here for three days. By 11:45 am on Thursday, he was feeling better, but around 12 o’clock he suddenly gasped and died.
Army issued statement
The army issued a statement after the death of Zoom. It added that Army Dog Zoom was an invaluable member of our team. Despite his young age of 2 years, Zoom was a veteran of several terror operations where he proved himself with his energy and courage. Zoom played a key role during the operation in Anantnag on 9 October.

The video shared by Chinar Corps shows the training given to Zoom. Being a part of the army, the dog has different duties. This includes guard duty, patrolling, sniffing explosives, identifying drugs, etc.
Army Dog Axel was martyred on July 31
Army’s Assault Dog Axel was posthumously awarded the Gallantry Award ‘Mention in Despatches’.
On July 31, when the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police launched an operation against the terrorists hiding in a house in Wanigam, Baramulla, the dog squad was also included in it. A camera was installed on Doug Axel’s back so that the correct information of the terrorists could reach the army during the room interventions conducted by him, as Axel entered the house at the encounter site, the terrorists opened fire on him. He died after being hit by three bullets.
