According to police sources, the accused doctor took Rs 12 crore from more than one person. The doctor said the shares would be invested through a financial institution in Bhubaneswar. The doctor also promised that a large dividend would be paid to the investors after the investment. But the promise did not work. The doctor who lodged the complaint paid Rs 26 lakh to the accused. The doctor started giving money to the accused from July last year. In the end, the doctor complained to the police that he did not get the profit even after promising.
