Director Vasan Bala Of Alia Bhatt’s ‘Jigra’ Apologised To Shraddha Kapoor Fans, Here’s Why

Shraddha Kapoor recently praised director Vasan Bala and Alia Bhatt for the teaser of their upcoming film, ‘Jigra’. Filmmaker Vasan Bala, who had forgot to mention Shraddha in a post appreciating Stree 2, later apologised to Shraddha’s fans for the omission.

Shraddha Kapoor praises Alia Bhatt’s Jigra teaser

On Sunday, Shraddha shared the Jigra teaser, originally posted by Alia and her co-star Vedang Raina, on her Instagram Stories. She captioned it, “Ye toh theatre mein bhai ke sath dekhna hai (Have to watch this in theatres with my brother)”—tagging her brother, actor Siddhanth Kapoor—along with emotional and heart emojis. She added, “Kya kamaal ladki hai (What a wonderful girl) @aliaabhatt. Kya amazing trailer hai (What an amazing trailer) @vasanbala,” followed by a fire emoji and the hashtag #Jigra.

Vasan responded to her praise by reposting her story, writing, “Thank you Shraddha, hope you and Siddhanth enjoy the film too. And unrelated, but I’ll take this opportunity to address—sorry to your fans. Bhool chuk maaf (with bowing, scared, teary-eyed, and fingers crossed emojis).” Alia also reposted Shraddha’s compliment and replied, “Hahaha thank you my blockbuster Stree (with heart and celebration emojis).”

When Vasan Bala shared Stree 2 appreciation post

Last month, after Stree 2 made waves at the box office, Vasan posted a shoutout to the core team, including Rajkummar Rao, Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurana, Pankaj Tripathi, director Amar Kaushik, producer Dinesh Vijan, and writer Niren Bhatt, but left out Shraddha. This upset her fans, especially since they had been campaigning for her recognition after the film’s success.

Meanwhile, Jigra, which also stars Manoj Pahwa and is co-produced by Alia’s Eternal Sunshine Productions and Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, tells an emotional brother-sister story. It is set to release in cinemas on October 11.
