Diamond Baron To Build 311 Hanuman Temples In Dang | Surat News – Times of India

Surat: Leading diamantaire, Govind Dholakiya, promoter of Shree Ramkrishna Export (SRK), is constructing 311 Hanuman temples in the tribal-dominated Dang district.
Of these, 21 have already been constructed while 14 are ready to be inaugurated on Sunday.
The temples will be opened to the public in the presence of Govindgiri Maharaj of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, Ayodhya, at Nani Zadadar village.
Dholakia started working on the project in 2018 after getting know that an idol of Lord Hanuman was damaged.
“We have been doing welfare activities including medical camps in Dang for the past 28 years. During one such visit, I noticed a damaged idol of Lord Hanuman and decided to construct temples,” Dholakia told TOI.
The temples constructed so far have been developed at a cost of around Rs 10 lakh to Rs 15 lakh. Of the total cost, Dholakia’s Shree Ramkrishna Welfare Trust (SRWT) will contribute 50% while the rest will be borne by other donors.
“The temples are designed in a way that people can take its multiple advantages,” said Anubhai Tejani, a developer.
SRWT is building the temples under guidance of PP Swami, a seer active in welfare activities in Dang for the past couple of decades. “In all, 311 villages of Dang district, which is one temple in each village, will be built. The villages housing temple are supposed to hold a de-addiction drive first,” said PP Swami.
Majority of the villages have Hanuman idols placed under trees.
“The villagers started uniting at places where the temples were constructed and started united for welfare activities,” Dholakia said.
