Dia Mirza Pens Heartbreaking Note On Her Niece’s Death: ‘Gone Into The Light’

New Delhi: Actress Dia Mirza took to Instagram on Monday to inform about her niece Tanya Kakde’s death. Tanya Kakde is the daughter of Congress leader Feroz Khan. According to various reports, Tanya died in a road accident in Telangana’s Shamshabad.

In the emotional post, Dia wrote, “My neice. My child. My jaan. Gone into the light. May you find peace and love wherever you are my darling… you always brought a smile to our hearts and the higher realms will be filled with more light with you dancing, smiling and singing. Om Shanti.”


Many celebrities and fans posted their condolence messages on Diya’s post. Farah Ali Khan commented, “Omg. That is so sad. May she shine brighter on the other side. May she be the brightest star in the sky.”  “So sorry to hear this D sending u and the family lots of love and strength,” wrote Amrita Kak.

Gul Panag said, “Deepest condolences.” Celebrities such as Gauahar Khan, Esha Gupta, Seema Khan, and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni also extended condolences.

According to Siasat Daily, Tanya was coming back from Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi international airport when the accident took place. Onlookers and the patrol team immediately rushed to help. However, Tanya died while being taken to the hospital. Her body was taken to Osmania hospital.

Tanya, in an earlier interview to You and I magazine, had said she looked up to Dia and she was her inspiration. “I grew up watching and learning from all of the strong women in my life – my mother, my nani, my ammama, Deepa dadi, and my mashi, Dia Mirza,” she had told the magazine.
