dharamsot: Notice To Dharamsot For Code Violation | Ludhiana News – Times of India

PATIALA: Former Cabinet minister and Congress candidate from Nabha assembly segment Sadhu Singh Dharamsot on Monday allegedly held a road show following which he was served a show-cause notice by the returning officer.
Nabha SDM-cum-returning officer Kanu Garg has served the show-cause notice to Dharamsot on alleged violation of model code of conduct as according to the Election Commission guidelines, the candidates cannot hold road shows. The returning officer said that action could be taken only after the reply of the candidate is received.
Dharamsot had also uploaded photographs of the event.
Dharamsot, however, refuted the allegations and said that no road show was taken out but his supporters had come on their own while he was going to file nomination on Monday.
“I had gone to pay obeisance at local Gurdwara Sahib and then at historical temple after which I had moved towards the filing of my nomination on my vehicle but the gathering of people reached near my vehicle to show their love and support for me. Many among them also carried Congress flags. I had moved along with only four Congress workers but later many people joined me. It wasn’t a road show,” Dharamsot said.
