Devastation due to cloudburst in Himachal: Dozens of bighas of land washed away in Dhanayara Panchayat of Mandi; Transport 40 people to a safe place, damage to shops and vehicles

Even before the onset of monsoon in Himachal, havoc has started due to heavy rains. Due to cloudburst on late Tuesday evening, a barricade-like situation was created in remote Gram Panchayat Dhanyara of Mandi district. In this incident, several bighas of land belonging to the people of Dogri, Hadaboi and Karla villages were washed away in the flood waters.

Due to cloudburst, two vehicles were also washed away in Dogri. Here some shops were also damaged due to falling of big stones. A cow died after a cloudburst damaged the cowshed in Hadaboi, while two other cows were rescued. The local people and the administration carried out a rescue operation of about 4 hours till late night and took 40 people to safe places.

Meera Devi, head of Dhanayara panchayat, told that there has been huge devastation due to cloudburst. Several bighas of land belonging to the people were washed away in the flood and all the connectivity routes in the area were also cut off. He told that due to the night, there is a problem in the rescue. The damage can be assessed only in the morning.

Heavy rain overnight in other parts of the state

It rained heavily in many other areas of the state last night. Due to this the night temperature has dropped. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for heavy rain and hailstorm for today and tomorrow as well. It may rain in most parts of the state especially tomorrow.

During this, a warning has also been given of storm and storm at a speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour. The weather will remain bad in the state till June 19, but a yellow alert has been given for rain till June 17.

After the rains last night, the people of the state have heaved a sigh of relief from the heat, as the temperature in 12 cities of the state had crossed 30 degrees till last evening. Due to this, along with the plains, the mountains also started heating up. Una’s mercury had reached the maximum of 40 degrees and Dholakuan’s temperature had reached 39.7 degrees.
