NEW DELHI: A 19-year-old man was stabbed to death following a dispute over Rs 1,500 in Outer Delhi’s Raj Park area on Thursday.
Police have apprehended a juvenile, who had taken the money from the deceased, and his friend.
Police said they received a PCR call regarding the murder on Thursday.
The victim identified as Deepak Sharma was rushed to a hospital where he died during treatment. There were several stab wounds on the stomach and chest of the deceased.
During the probe, cops identified the accused (minor) through CCTV footage. Later, he was apprehended and on his instance, Manish (his friend) was arrested.
“Further probe revealed that the deceased, Sharma, had given Rs 1,500 to the minor about four months back and he was not returning the money,” an officer said.
Sharma had started insulting him for not returning the money. “The minor was in a rage over the insult,” the officer said.
He told the matter to his friend Manish and they planned to take revenge on the deceased.
On Thursday, around 10 pm, they met Sharma. First, an argument took place and later the minor attacked him with a knife, which he was carrying along with him.
“The minor is working as a salesman at a cloth shop. Manish is pursuing BBA,” the officer said.
