New Delhi: With the announcement of ‘Singham Again’, one of the most anticipated films of the year, Rohit Shetty introduces Deepika Padukone as his first female officer, Lady Singham. The first glimpse of Deepika Padukone in her role as the female Singham in ‘Singham Again’ has caused a stir. In Rohit Shetty’s upcoming police drama, the actress plays the part of Shakti Shetty. On the first day of Navratri, the director unveiled Deepika’s first look.
Deepika appears on the poster with a pistol in a police uniform. Blood was gushing from Deepika’s forehead and shoulder as she smiled menacingly and shoved the revolver into a man’s mouth. In the next photo, Deepika seems to be a tough officer seeking to take down the bad guys while armed with a gun.
Rohit Shetty captioned the poster, “Naari sita ka bhi roop hai aur durga ka bhi… Meet the most brutal and violent officer of our cop universe… Shakti Shetty… My lady Singham… Deepika Padukone.”
During the launch of ‘Cirkus’ song ‘Current Laga Re’ last year, Rohit revealed Deepika’s entry into the Singham and cop world. He said, “We are making Singham next. Everyone kept asking me who is the lady cop in my universe. So today, let me confirm that Deepika Padukone will be the lady Singham, the lady cop in Singham 3. We start shooting next year.”
Ranveer Singh was quick to comment, ‘Re Deva!!!! AALI RE AALI !!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Following ‘Singham’, ‘Singham Returns’, ‘Simmba’, and ‘Sooryavanshi’, ‘Singham Again’ is the fifth film in Rohit Shetty’s police universe. Starring Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, and Ranveer Singh, the film is scheduled for an August 15, 2024 release.
