Videos have surfaced of wrestlers Akhilavi Panghal and Vishal Kaliraman protesting against the exemption from trial.

Wrestlers Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia, who protested against Brij Bhushan, former president of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI), have reached the Delhi High Court for exemption from the Asian Games trial. Haryana wrestlers Avinash Panghal and Sanjit Kalkal have challenged the Indian Olympic Association’s (IOA) adhoc committee’s decision to give direct entry to Vinesh-Bajrang.

He has demanded a fair trial of the players. The matter will be heard tomorrow at 10.30 am in the Delhi High Court. The joint petition of both the wrestlers was presented before Delhi High Court Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma.

The petition has been filed by his lawyers Hrishikesh Baruah and Akshay Kumar. In which it has been demanded that the exemption given to Bajrang and Vinesh should be rejected by rejecting the instructions of the Adhoc Committee.

Wrestlers say that Sakshi Malik, Vinesh Phogat, Bajrang Punia and Sangeeta Phogat had said while protesting that they are fighting the battle of junior wrestlers but now want to sideline them.

Wrestler said – exemption from trial is not justified
In the petition, both the wrestlers demanded that the trial should be conducted in a fair manner. No exemption should be given to any wrestler. The entire process should be videographed. The plea contends that these wrestlers, during their protest at Jantar Mantar, had stated that their fight was for justice and the interest of junior wrestlers. Now they want to sideline junior wrestlers. That’s why we had to approach the court against this decision. It has been specifically stated in the petition that it is not justified to allow Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia to directly participate in the Asian Games without trial.

Last Panghal said – she will defeat Vinesh
At last Panghal says he is ready to wrestle with Vinesh. She is confident that she will defeat Vinesh. Not only this, it has been said in the petition that Vinesh Phogat has not practiced wrestling for the last 1 year. Despite this, ignoring all these facts, he has been allowed to go to the Asian Games without trial. On the other hand, another wrestler Sujit said that there are 5-6 wrestlers in the country in the 65 kg category, who are capable of defeating Bajrang.

The last said in the video – I was cheated earlier also
The latter has spoken in a video. “I won the gold medal in the 2022 Junior World Championships. Even in the Commonwealth Games trials, I was tied 3-3 with Vinesh, even then I was cheated and lost. Should I quit wrestling? want? I just want a fair trial. There are many women wrestlers who can do that

Vishal said – do not want profit or favor, trial should be done
Another wrestler Vishal Kaliraman protested against Bajrang being selected in the team for the Asian Games without any trials. “I also play in the 65kg category and Bajrang Punia has been given a direct entry for the Asian Games without any trials. They have been protesting for a year while we are practicing,” Kaliraman said.

We appeal for a trial… We don’t want any favors or benefits. There should be at least a trial otherwise we are ready to go to court… We will appeal before the court. We are practicing since 15 years. If Bajrang Punia denies that he will not play in Asian Games then only someone else will get a chance.

The exemption in trial was first opposed by former wrestler and BJP leader Yogeshwar Dutt. After which he also asked other wrestlers to raise their voice against it.

Trial will be held on July 22-23
In fact, the ad hoc committee of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) on Tuesday decided that the trials would be held at the KD Jadhav Indoor Stadium on July 22 and 23. Vinesh and Bajrang will not participate in this. Wrestlers Bajrang (65) and Vinesh Phogat (53 kg), who have leveled sexual harassment allegations against former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, have been included in the Asian Games squad without a trial.
