According to what was written in the suicide note, Jia was very upset due to her bad relationship with Sooraj and was feeling breakdown. After this Jiah’s mother Rabia Khan filed a case against Sooraj.

Sooraj’s mother and actress Zarina Wahab is in a lot of shock before the verdict comes. He has appealed to the people to pray for his son. Zarina said, ‘I will be in court with my son. The verdict is going to come at 10.30 am. He has full faith in the judiciary. He knows that he will definitely get justice.
We have waited a long time of 10 years for this decision. These 10 years were like hell for my son. Whenever he looks at me, I feel his pain. I know she is innocent, but I can’t do anything. I still have full faith in the above. Their house is dark but not late.
Mother Zarina Wahab is very upset before the decision on the son and has appealed to the people to pray.

- Jiah Khan died on 3 June 2023 at the age of 25. The cause of death was said to be suicide by hanging. Leaving the world at such a young age, the entire film industry was stunned.
- In the police investigation, a 6-page suicide note was found from Jia’s house. Suraj Pancholi was talked about in this suicide note. It was written in it that Jia was mentally disturbed. According to this note, Jia was forced to commit suicide because of Suraj.
- Sooraj Pancholi was arrested on 10 June 2013 on the complaint of Jiah’s mother Rabia Khan. However, due to lack of evidence, he was granted bail in July 2013 itself.
- In July 2014, the CBI started investigating the matter. During the investigation, Jiya’s mother Rabia constantly accused Sooraj. He even appealed to the American investigative agency FBI for help.
- The CBI claimed in its charge sheet that Jia had become pregnant a few months before her suicide. It was also said in the charge sheet that Suraj had given some medicines to Jia for abortion.
- In 2021, the Sessions Court transferred the case to the Special CBI Court. It was told by the court that the CBI is probing the case, so this case has gone out of its jurisdiction.
- Jiah’s mother Rabia filed a petition in the Bombay High Court in 2022 for a fresh probe into the case. However, the court rejected this petition.
- On 20 April 2023, Justice AS Syed heard the arguments of both the sides in the CBI’s special court, while reserving his decision, gave the next date on 28 April 2023.
Jia made her debut in films at the age of 18 with Ram Gopal Varma’s film Nishabd. He worked with big stars like Amitabh, Aamir and Akshay in his short career.
