3-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal did not miss an opportunity to watch his favourite football club, Real Madrid in action in the Champions League final in Paris. A day ahead of his 4th round match at French Open, Nadal took time out to be at the Stade de France to cheer for the Los Blancos on Saturday, May 28.

Rafael Nadal, whose love for Real Madrid is well-documented, was spotted at the Stade de France as he was dressed in grey suit and pants as he waved to the fans at the iconic venue.

Nadal had discussed about the possibility of him going to the Champions League final after his 3rd-round win over Botic Van De Zandschulp of the Netherlands on Friday.

“I didn’t see Zidane but I know he was there because I was listening to the crowd naming him all the time. If I’ll go to watch the #ChampionsLeagueFinal? Let’s see how I wake up tomorrow and if nothing happens my intention is to be there,” Nadal had told the press on Friday.

Nadal must have enjoyed most part of the final as Real Madrid overcame a fiery start from Liverpool. Vinicius Junior gave Real Madrid the lead in the 59th minute after a wonderful cross across the face of the net from Federico Valverde.

Thibaut Courtois was on top of his game as he denied Liverpool stars, including Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane on multiple occasions, making as many as 8 saves in the first 80 minutes.

He finished with 9 saves as Real Madrid defeated Liverpool 1-0 in the final to win their 14th Champions League crown.

Meanwhile, Nadal will face 9th seed Felix Auguer-Alissiame in the fourth round as he chases a 14th French Open title, on Sunday. Nadal has been spotless at the Roland Garros so far, reaching the second week without dropping a set.

Nadal will be up against his uncle, Toni who coached him to glory from his childhood. Toni has been working with Auguer-Alisiamme in the recent past.
