Kannada actor Darshan is being probed for his alleged links to the Renuka Swamy murder case.
Kannada star Darshan Thoogudeepa’s fans gathered outside a police station in Bengaluru to extend their support to the actor. Darshan was arrested earlier today in connection to the Renuka Swamy murder case.
In a video that surfaced on social media, hundreds of Darshan’s fans were seen gathered outside the police station. They were also seen chanting slogans in support of the actor. Watch the video here:

Earlier today, Darshan was apprehended from his farmhouse in Mysore and was brought to the Kamakshipalya police station in Bengaluru for further investigation. He is being probed for his alleged links to the Renuka Swamy murder case.
Renuka was found dead at Sumanahalli Bridge in Bengaluru on June 8, 2024. He used to reportedly work at an Apollo Pharmacy branch in Chitradurga. A wooden log was reportedly used to fatally injure the victim. The perpetrators intended to dispose of the body in the Vrushabhavati valley, but it was discovered stuck and being tampered with by dogs. A case of an unidentified body was initially filed on June 8.
According to police officials, Renuka used to send vulgar messages to Pavithra Gowad, a friend of Darshan. Angry about this, Renuka Swamy was murdered and his dead body was allegedly thrown in a canal at Kamaksshipalya, Bengaluru in front of Darshan.
Eight of the accused have implicated Darshan, claiming his presence during Renuka Swamy’s assault. On Tuesday afternoon, Karnataka police also released a video in which Darshan’s car was allegedly seen near the place where Renuka’s dead body was disposed of. The video showed a car which allegedly belonged to Darshan. However, it remains unclear if the actor was inside the car at that time or not.
Meanwhile, Darshan’s close friend and actress Pavithra Gowda has also been arrested in the case. She is often linked to Darshan. In January this year, Pavithra left everyone shocked when she shared a video on social media in which she hinted at their relationship. “One decade down; forever to go.♥️♥️ #10year It’s been 10 years of our relationship. Thank you ✨✨,” she wrote.
