In Thane, 5 buildings have been evacuated after cracks were found on the roofs and pillars. 250 families live in these. An official said that some of the roofs of the buildings had started collapsing. After this, steps have been taken to evacuate them as a precautionary measure.
According to the official, cracks were noticed on Saturday. After this, the officials of the fire department and the municipal corporation inspected them. Why the cracks came, it is not yet known. This building was built in 1998 and is not included in the list of dangerous buildings. These buildings will be inspected once again, after which further steps will be taken.
According to reports, the families who have been evicted from these buildings have not been provided accommodation by the administration. They themselves are looking for shelter to live. Due to the dilapidated buildings, no one has been hurt.
