Amidst the announcement of Chardham Yatra in Uttarakhand, cracks have started appearing in Joshimath once again. This time, more than 10 big cracks have been seen on the Joshimath-Badrinath highway. This highway connects to the Badrinath Shrine, one of the largest pilgrimage centers in the Garhwal Himalayas. According to the local people, these cracks extend up to 10 km from Joshimath to Marwari.

Here, the DM of Chamoli district told that an investigation team has been sent to the spot. After investigation, the team will submit its report to the administration. After this further action will be taken in the matter

Let us inform that the Uttarakhand government has announced the Char Dham Yatra on Saturday. The Kedarnath temple will be opened for devotees at 6.20 am on April 25. After this, on April 27, the doors of Badrinath Dham will be opened at 7.10 am. In such a situation, it is considered to be a big danger in view of the journey. It is feared that the number of cracks in these areas may increase further.

According to media reports, according to Sanjay Uniyal, an official of Joshimath Bachao Sangharsh Samiti (JBSS), this danger is very big. Since a large number of devotees and pilgrims will visit Badrinath during Char Dham Yatra. This is the only way for them to reach Badrinath. In such a situation, due to landslides and cracks, their lives can be made.

At the same time, JBSS coordinator Atul Seti has warned the government that even a slight negligence can cost the lives of the devotees of Char Dham Yatra. He said that a large number of vehicles will have to come and go during the yatra. In such a situation, this danger can increase further. JBSS is a group of citizens in Uttarakhand, which is highlighting the problem of cracks and land subsidence in Joshimath.

According to media reports, Sanjay Uniyal told that the cracks on the road in front of the State Bank branch located near the Railway Guest House are huge. Further, such cracks have also been seen near JP Colony and Marwari Bridge. Similarly, the highway has caved in near Zero Bend in Ravigram Municipal Ward. Pranav Sharma, who lives here, told that the cracks on the highway which were filled by the Border Road Organization (BRO) have started emerging again.

Cracks in 868 buildings so far in Joshimath

So far 868 buildings have developed cracks due to land subsidence in Joshimath, Uttarakhand. Chamoli’s DM Himanshu Khurana gave this information on last Friday. He said that 181 of these buildings are in unsafe areas. The demolition work of Hotel Mount View and Malari Inn is in the final stages.

He said that 878 members of 243 disaster affected families were in relief camps. They are being provided facilities of food, drink and medicines.
