NEW DELHI: Maharashtra and Karnataka on Friday reported the most number of daily Covid-19 cases in the country, with the former adding 48,270 fresh cases and the latter adding 48,049 new infections to its tally.

Maharashtra added a total of 48,270 cases to its tally, showing a sharp rise in cases from Tuesday.
Meanwhile, West Bengal recorded a marginal dip with 9,154 cases, from 10,959 new infections a day before.
Among the big cities, Bengaluru reported 29,068 cases followed by Delhi with 10,756 new infections, taking the positivity rate in the national capital to 18.04%.
Chennai too recorded 7,038 fresh Covid cases.
India had reported 3.47 lakh new Covid cases on Friday morning.
The country reported 703 more fatalities earlier today, pushing the total death toll to 4,88,396.
