Varanasi: The cases of coronavirus infection continued to surge in the district, as 375 more people tested positive for Covid-19 on Sunday while eight patients in home isolation were declared cured.
According to the daily medical bulletin, with the detection of new cases the number of active cases increased to 1,378 in the district. The test results of 6,126 samples were received, while the results of 3,254 samples are awaited, and 5,491 samples were collected on Sunday.
As many as 1,674 people tested positive till date from December 1, 2021 out of which 296 patients were declared cured. All the cured patients were treated in home isolation.
In Chandauli district too, the active cases of Covid-19 crossed the mark of 100 on Sunday. According to the medical bulletin, 36 persons including 10 women and six children tested positive for Covid-19, increasing the number of active cases to 119.
Ballia district reported 15 new cases of coronavirus infection that increased the number of active cases to 42.
Earlier, Sonbhadra district reported 24 new cases of Covid-19 on Saturday, increasing the number of active cases to 56.
Jaunpur district reported six new cases of Covid-19 on Sunday, increasing the number of active cases to 46.
