The Additional Civil Court here has agreed to hear the Malali Masjid dispute in Mangaluru. The court allowed the application of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP). At the same time, the application of the Muslim side was rejected.

The VHP claims that the Malali Masjid was built by demolishing the temple. This is a case similar to the Gyanvapi Masjid of Varanasi. On the other hand, the Masjid Committee claims that this is a Waqf land, so the court should not hear it. But the court rejected this claim.

Tension increased since April
During the repair on 21st April this year, a pillar came out under the mosque. When the news spread, the Hindu side claimed that it was the pillar of the temple. This created a situation of tension in the area. The two sides turned face to face. Section 144 is in force here since then.
