The Department of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has issued a notification in this regard on Thursday. Under this, from July 1, 2022, there will be a ban on the manufacture, import, storage, distribution, sale and use of single-use plastics. However, paper cups with less plastic coating will continue to be used.
Actually, the ban came into force in the state from 15 December 2021. A day after this, after getting the exemption from the state government, there is an atmosphere of happiness among the traders. The state government has taken this decision after the decision of the central government.
‘The same plastic and thermocol will be banned which is in the notification of the Center’

After which the Principal Secretary, Environment, Forest and Climate Change Department Deepak Kumar Singh has issued a notification in this regard today.

The polythene ban is in force in the state since 2018.
The state government has already banned polythene in Bihar. Following the direction of the High Court, the state government, taking a decision in the cabinet, had imposed a complete ban on the use of polythene in Bihar on 23 December 2018. It was only after this ban that the government started the process of discontinuing single-use plastic and thermocol.
