WBC cruiserweight world champion Noel Mikaelian has given a stern warning to Jake Paul who has aspirations of holding a Boxing World Title.

YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul has been issued with a stern warning by the current WBC cruiserweight world champion Noel Mikaelian. Paul is currently 9-1 in his boxing career. But the American boxer is adamant he will not only challenge for but win a championship belt by 2025.

Taking note of the ex-streamer’s lofty aspirations, Mikaelian has warned Paul of the dangers of challenging a champion. Speaking to SunSport, he said, “It could be dangerous, of course. He can get knocked out, it can happen to any fighter.” Mikaelian also talked about how Paul did not have the experience to challenge a seasoned fighter.

“But he doesn’t have the experience to obviously fight somebody like me or any other champion in the cruiserweight division or Canelo or something,” the 33-year-old added.

Speaking further in the same interview, Noel Mikaelian compared Jake Paul’s decision with suicide and said, “[Fighting me] That would be like, I don’t wanna say suicide, but it will be…it could be dangerous.” The Armenian-German boxer highlighted how several athletes lose their lives every year competing in the combat sport. “Boxing is a dangerous sport, an average 15 people die a year from boxing matches. So many concussions, brain injuries. So boxing is definitely a dangerous sport and it could be dangerous for anyone.” he explained.

Noel Mikaelian is currently the WBC title holder in Jake Paul’s chosen cruiserweight division. After addressing the title-match claims from the American boxer, Mikaelian said that he was ready to grant Paul his wish. But the ex-streamer would have to adhere to some of the WBC Champion’s conditions. “If he wants to fight for a world championship, it will be quite difficult. He has to first beat somebody in the top 15 to get ranked,” Mikaelian said. He added, “And then, he’s gotta give me that Hawk Tuah and spit on that thing, then I’d do a voluntary defence against him.”

In his illustrious career, Noel Mikaelian has only lost two fights he has competed in, including defeats against Krzysztof Wlodarczyk and Mairis Briedis. Referring to Jake Paul’s only career defeat against Tommy Fury in Saudi Arabia last year, Mikaelian voiced that he was not impressed and expected much more from the American. “I thought he would bring a bigger crowd and that would be much more of a star. But it wasn’t as huge as I thought,” he told SunSport. Speaking about a potential fight against Jake Paul, Noel Mikaelian said that he would play around because it would be lucrative for him as well.
