The second patient of Omicron BA.5 variant has been found in India. This person, who hails from South Africa, reached Vadodara, Gujarat on May 1 to meet his parents. About this 29-year-old man, the Chief Health Officer of Vadodara Municipal Corporation, Dr. Devesh Patel said that he had left for New Zealand on May 10 after a negative report of the corona virus. The test sample was sent to the lab in Gandhinagar for genome sequencing. This was revealed after the report came on Tuesday.

Current status of Corona in the country
Here, more than one thousand cases are still being reported daily in the country. According to the latest data, the report of a total of 1,135 patients came positive in the last 24 hours. 1,268 patients have been cured. The good thing is that no patient died for the first time. Presently 13 thousand 636 patients are being treated.

Since the beginning of the epidemic, more than 4.31 crore people have been infected with corona in the country. 4.25 crore have been cured, while more than 5 lakh people have lost their lives.

Three doses of the vaccine from Pfizer and Biotech have been found to be 80 percent effective in children between 6 months and 5 years. Three doses of vaccine can reduce the risk of Omicron in children. The results of the clinical trial of the vaccine showed that the third dose of the vaccine has the highest effect.

Biotech CEO Ugur Sahin told that this week we will apply for permission for emergency use of the vaccine with the Food and Drug Administration. Pfizer CEO Albert Borla said that it is expected that soon this vaccine will be available for children aged 6 months to 5 years.

Health Minister expressed displeasure over WHO report
Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya on Monday expressed displeasure over the World Health Organization (WHO) report in which WHO had said that India has a high death rate from all causes. Mandaviya said that India expresses its dismay at the way the WHO prepared a report on the mortality rate and presented it to the world.

In fact, WHO had recently claimed in a report that between January 1, 2020 and December 31, 2021, there were 47 lakh deaths from Kovid-19 in India. UAE bans travel from 16 countries including India
In view of the increasing outbreak of Kovid-19, Saudi Arabia has banned the travel of its citizens to 16 countries including India. Saudi Arabia has taken this decision in view of the increase in daily cases of corona infection in the last few weeks. According to Gulf News, Saudi Arabia has banned travel from India, Lebanon, Syria, Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan, Yemen, Somalia, Ethiopia, Congo, Libya, Indonesia, Vietnam, Armenia, Belarus and Venezuela.

Saudi also expressed concern about monkeypox
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health has also expressed concern about monkeypox. Deputy Health Minister Abdullah Asiri said, ‘We are able to detect and monitor suspected cases of monkeypox. If a case of this disease comes to the fore, then it is also capable of fighting the infection.

Meanwhile, the World Health Organization (WHO) has confirmed more than 100 cases of monkeypox in 15 countries. However, no official statement has come from India in this matter yet.

Monkey pox threat in Mumbai
After the cases of monkeypox came to the fore from some countries, the threat of this disease has started looming in Mumbai too. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has prepared a 28-bed ward at Kasturba Hospital here. BMC official said that at present no suspected patient of monkeypox has been confirmed in Mumbai, but there is a possibility of infection from travelers coming from countries where the disease has spread, for which precaution is being taken. The BMC said that all the passengers coming from other countries are being screened at the airport.

Monkey pox alert in MP
After getting monkeypox patients in 15 countries of the world, now the Union Health Ministry has given instructions to take special precautions in Madhya Pradesh too. In view of the possibility of rapid spread of this disease after Corona, surveillance of travelers coming from abroad has been intensified.
