Corona Update: 17,943 new cases were found on the last day, 40 died; Wearing of mask is mandatory in Himachal

On the last day, 17,943 new cases of corona have been found in the country, while 40 people have died. At the same time, there has been a slight decrease in the number of active cases i.e. patients undergoing treatment. The number of active cases in the country is 1 lakh 38 thousand 548. On the previous day, 18,258 people have also recovered from Corona. A day before this, 20, 409 cases were found on Thursday and 47 people died.

Here, in view of the increasing cases of corona in Himachal, wearing of masks has been made mandatory in all educational institutions and offices. The Health Department also issued orders in this regard on Friday. Apart from this, it will be necessary to wear a mask even in crowded places. On the previous day, 930 new cases were found in the state and 1 patient died.

Positivity rate crosses 10% in 7 states
The positivity rate is more than 10% in 7 states of the country. These include Meghalaya, Himachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Uttarakhand, Manipur, Sikkim, and Chandigarh. The positivity rate was recorded in Chandigarh 10.36%, Himachal 16.56%, Sikkim 13.105% and Nagaland 13.73%. Meghalaya has recorded the highest positivity rate of 23.14%.

More than 5 lakh deaths due to corona in the country so far
Since the beginning of the corona epidemic in the country, 43 lakh 99 thousand 370 have been found infected, while 5 lakh 28 thousand 961 people have died. The number of patients who have been cured of corona has increased to 43,318,178. At the same time, India’s corona vaccination coverage has exceeded 203.6 crores.
