9,170 new corona virus cases have been registered in Maharashtra in the last 24 hours. This is 13% more than on Friday. There were also 7 deaths due to infection in the state. At the same time, 2,716 new corona infected have been found in Delhi on Saturday. Here on the previous day a jump of 51% was recorded in a single day. An increase of 3.64% was recorded in the positivity rate in the capital. There are currently 6,360 active patients in the state.

The biggest concern in Maharashtra is about Mumbai. Here on Saturday once again 6,347 new patients have been identified. Of these, there are 5,712 asymptomatic cases. Today one patient has lost his life, while 451 patients have been cured. There are 22,334 active patients in the city and more than 75 thousand people have recovered so far.

Center asks states to build makeshift hospitals
In a letter written by Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan to the Chief Secretaries of the states, it has been warned of a massive increase in the cases of corona and has been advised to intensify the measures to deal with it. In the letter, the states and union territories have been asked to build makeshift hospitals to meet the possible shortage of beds for corona patients. Along with this, advice has been given to constitute special teams for proper monitoring of patients kept in home isolation. Along with this, control rooms have also been asked to start at district and sub-district level.

New record of vaccination in the country; 69% of people aged 60+ and 73% of age group 45-59 received both doses

According to health ministry data, a record 145 crore doses of corona vaccine have been administered in the country so far. At the same time, 69% of the population above 60 years of age has been given both doses of the vaccine. About 73% of people in the 45 to 59 age group have also been fully vaccinated. Revealed in 7th Genome Sequencing in Mumbai; Omicron variant found in 55% of Covid patients

In 282 samples of corona patients from Mumbai, labs were sent for genome sequencing. Of these, 55% of the samples were from Omicron and 32% from Delta derivatives. Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has given this information. BMC reported that out of 282 samples, 156 (55%) were found to be Omicron variant and 89 (32%) to delta derivative and 37 (13%) to delta variant. This was the 7th batch sent for genome sequencing.

According to the BMC, a patient infected with Delta derivatives has died. The patient had taken only the first dose of the Kovid vaccine. Out of 282 patients, only 17 were hospitalised. 9 patients admitted to the hospital were Omicron positive.

1. Maharashtra

On Friday, 8067 people were found infected here. 1766 people were cured and 8 people died. So far, 66.79 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. 2. West Bengal
