The third wave of corona in the country is increasing day by day. In the last 24 hours, 1 lakh 41 thousand 983 new infected have been identified. 40,816 patients were cured and 285 infected died. With this, the number of active cases in the country, that is, the number of patients undergoing treatment, has gone up to 4 lakh 66 thousand 311. There has been an increase of one lakh in active cases in a single day.

This is the second consecutive day in the third wave when the number of new infected has crossed one lakh. Earlier on Thursday, 1 lakh 17 thousand 94 cases had come. That is, an increase of about 25 thousand has been registered in a day.

Talking about the states, Maharashtra has the highest number of 40,925 cases in the last 24 hours. After this, 18,213 infected have been identified in Bengal. Delhi is at number three with 17,335 cases.

  • Delhi Women’s Commission chairperson Swati Maliwal has been found corona infected. He has tweeted that his health is very bad. They also have symptoms of high fever.

  • In view of the increasing cases of corona in Uttarakhand, all political rallies and protests have been banned till 16 January. All schools and Anganwadi centers have also been ordered to be closed till January 16.
  • In view of the increasing cases of corona, instructions have been issued to keep the famous Jagannath temple of Odisha closed from January 10 to 31.
  • Corona cases are increasing in Delhi. The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) will hold a meeting on January 10 regarding the arrangements.

17000 new cases in Delhi; 55 hour weekend curfew
In the last 24 hours in Delhi, 17,335 cases of corona have been found in the capital and 9 people have died. At the same time, the positivity rate has increased to 17.73%. Weekend curfew has been imposed from 10 pm on Friday amid increasing cases of Omicron. The curfew will remain in force till 5 am on Monday. During this time people will not be allowed to leave the house unnecessarily.

If someone wants to catch a train, bus or flight, then they will be allowed to go to the railway station, bus stand or airport with a valid ticket nearby. Along with this, before leaving the house for any other important work, it will also be necessary to tell the valid region to the administrative officer along with a valid ID card with you.

Officers and employees posted in the offices of foreign diplomats, all doctors, nursing staff and paramedical staff, staff associated with medical services, such as diagnostic centres, clinics, pharmacies, pharmaceutical companies, medical oxygen suppliers and health services persons with valid IDs and Media persons will be allowed to move with a valid press ID card. During curfew, pregnant women and patients will be allowed to travel on showing a doctor’s slip.

More cases in Mumbai than Bengal and Delhi
Talking about the cities, the situation in Mumbai is getting worse. More than 20 thousand infected have been found here for the second consecutive day. On Friday, 20,971 cases were registered here. Today 6 people have died, while 8,490 people have been cured. The number of active cases has increased to 91,731. Earlier, 20,181 cases were registered in Mumbai on Thursday.

1. Maharashtra

On Friday, 40,925 people were found infected here. 14,256 people were cured and 20 people died. So far 68.34 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. 2. West Bengal
On Friday, 18,213 people were found infected here. 7912 people were cured and 18 people died. So far 17.11 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. Of these, 16.40 lakh people have been cured, while 19,864 died. 51,384 patients are currently undergoing treatment.

3. Delhi
On Friday, 17,335 people were found infected here. 8951 people have been cured and 9 deaths have been recorded. So far 15.06 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. Of these, 14.41 lakh people have been cured, while 25136 people died. 39,873 patients are currently undergoing treatment.

4. Tamil Nadu
On Friday, 8981 people were found infected here. 984 people were cured and 8 patients died. So far, more than 27.76 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. Of these, 27.08 lakh people have been cured, while 36,833 people died. There are 30,817 active cases here.

5.Karnataka
On Friday, 8449 people were found infected here. 505 people were cured and 4 people died. So far 30.31 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. Of these, 29.62 lakh people have been cured, while 38,362 people died. 30,113 patients are currently undergoing treatment.

Status of 9 other states
1. Rajasthan

On Friday, 3300 people were found infected here. 279 people were cured, while 2 people died. So far, more than 9.66 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. Of these, 9.47 lakh people have been cured, while 8,969 people died. There are 10,287 active cases here.

2. Madhya Pradesh
On Friday, 1320 people were found infected here. 161 people were cured, while 1 death was recorded. So far, more than 7.97 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. Of these, 7.83 lakh people have been cured, while 10,536 people died. There are 3632 active cases here.

347 new infected have been found in Bhopal. Here the active cases have increased to 962. At the same time, the report of 111 people came positive in Gwalior. Here the active cases have become 435.
