CM Bhagwant Mann said that the central government is imposing officers and employees of other states on Chandigarh in a sequential manner. The new decision of the Center is against the spirit of the Punjab Reorganization Act 1966. Punjab will fight vigorously for the just right over Chandigarh.

Earlier, Congress and Akali Dal had also opposed this decision of the central government. Earlier, Punjab Civil Service Rules were applicable to the employees of Chandigarh. Now on Sunday, Home Minister Amit Shah announced the Central Service Rules. Today its notification is also being issued.

Khaira said – UP, Bihar employees will come, protest Rajya Sabha MP
Congress leader Sukhpal Khaira said that with this decision of the Center, now instead of Punjab, employees of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar will come to Chandigarh. He asked the newly elected MPs of Rajya Sabha to oppose this dictatorial decision of the Center.

Punjab’s rights ending on Chandigarh
Former Congress Deputy CM MLA Sukhjinder Randhawa said that in the first BBMB, Punjab was behind. Now an attempt is being made to end Punjab’s right over Chandigarh. Punjab’s control over Chandigarh has been abolished.

Violation of Punjab Reorganization Act: Cheema
Akali Dal spokesperson Dr. Daljit Cheema said that 60% Punjab and 40% Haryana employees were posted in Chandigarh. The Punjab Civil Service Rules were applicable to the employees. He said that such a dictatorial decision was taken without consulting Punjab. He termed it a violation of the Punjab Reorganization Act 1978.

Sisodia said – BJP is afraid of AAP
In the Delhi government of Aam Aadmi Party, Deputy CM Manish Sisodia said that from 2017 to 2022, Congress ruled Punjab. Home Minister Amit Shah did not take the rights of Chandigarh then. As soon as the AAP government came to power in Punjab, the employees of Chandigarh were brought under the central rules. He said that BJP is scared to see AAP growing.
