‘Conspiratorial minority ward ticket …’, ‘arrogant’ BJP leader quits party post

Ward did not like the ticket. Sudip Chowdhury, president of Asansol North Zone II, resigned from the party after deciding not to field a candidate. Sudip also announced to fight as an independent in the ward of his choice. However, Sudip later said that he was not an independent candidate. However, he informed that he will not return to the post. Sudip said that he is in the team as a general worker.

Sudip Chowdhury said, ‘I wanted to stand in ward number 42. I also appealed to the top leadership of the party. Got the consent of the team. After that I picked up the nomination papers as the candidate of ward no. But then I came to know that I have been made the candidate of ward number 47. In that ward, 50 percent voters are in the minority. There is no way to win. I am being deliberately conspired against. ‘ Sudip pointed fingers at Dilip Dey, the district president of West Burdwan, and Krishnendu Mukherjee, the defeated BJP candidate from Asansol North Assembly constituency. Sudip complained, “The person who has been nominated in ward 42 works at the house of the district president.”

Meanwhile, Sudip said that he would contest the election as an independent candidate with the trident symbol in ward no. 42 without getting a ticket in the ward of his choice. Sudip later changed his mind. However, he said that he was leaving the post of BJP’s constituency president.
