The Bharat Jodo Yatra will cover a 25 km foot journey every day and travel 3570 km in 150 days to reach Kashmir from Kanyakumari. In order to spread love and brotherhood, Congress has named this yatra as Bharat Jodo Yatra.

This visit of the Congress is being seen as a preparation for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Rahul Gandhi will start by flagging off the Bharat Jodo Yatra from Kanyakumari. At seven in the morning, the first prayer meeting will be held in memory of former PM Rajiv Gandhi.
There will be three types of passengers in the journey
- India traveler- Rahul Gandhi will be accompanied by 100 passengers in the padyatra, who will walk with him from beginning to end. He will be called Bharat Yatri.
- State Traveler- From the states through which this yatra will pass, 100-100 people will be involved in it. Those who will be called state travelers.
- guest passenger- Even from the state where this yatra is not passing, 100-100 people can participate in it. These people will be called guest travelers.
