‘Competition Among Students Should Always Be Healthy’: PM Modi At Pariksha Pe Charcha 2024

Similar to the past six years, PM Modi addressed and interacted with students in the Pariksha pe Charcha (PPC) 2024. The event is being held at the Bharat Mandapam for the first time, the building complex which hosted the G20 Summit in New Delhi during India’s G20 Presidency.

During his address to the students at the Pariksha Pe Charcha 2024, PM Modi addressed and interacted several students, teachers, and parents present during the event, as well as those who connected to the event virtually. Taking up questions during the event on how to cope up exam stress, PM Modi said that students should not unnecessarily overstress themselves with challenging targets leading up to exams.

In his address, PM Modi said that we should not set stressing targets like if today I solved 7 questions, tomorrow I have to solve 8 questions. Because of such overthinking, we often stress ourselves with a cluttered mind which eventually leads to painting an easy task as ‘very difficult,’ most of the time.

He further underlined that it is the equal responsibility of teachers and parents to ensure a stress-free environment for students during exams. How families play their part in helping shape a positive mindset among students is very crucial and something that must be taken into consideration.

Comparative remarks drawn by parents towards their children is a common sight, and something that starts instilling a sense of toxic competition among siblings, right from the family itself. Such practices must be avoided, PM Modi said.
